The beginnings of Lochhaven ( and beyond...)
In 2003 Ash met David Barclay and the Barclay family.
Ash studied under Dave learning to play the pipes and learning the
history of Dave's family. One night Dave challenged Ash to make a
set of pipes.

Over the next several years Ash would make pipes and bring them to
Dave. Dave and Ash would play the pipes and Dave would comment
on the tone and balance, helping to guide Ash to "the golden sound".
Two years and countless test pipes, Dave's eyes lit up and with a
clap, he stated "Golden".

Loch haven Celtic pipes was named by Dave Barclay and is a
continuance and tribute to his legacy.

I still work closely with the Barclay family and dedicate this site to
Dave and his family.
